KL Eco Film Fest 2018

Picture
In October, the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) participated in the KL Eco Film Festival 2018 at Publika Shopping Gallery. Running from 22nd to 28th October, the Society showcased information on its MY forest and Urban Community Forest projects, as well as merchandise from its various programmes throughout the years, including conservation work relating to hornbills, sun bears and fireflies. It also participated in two Film Curation sessions, with the MNS Marine Group addressing the audience on Marine Monday, and the MNS Conservation Division and guest speaker from the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre taking to the stage on Wildlife Wednesday. This activity is in line with MNS’s local community capacity-building remit under MY forest, alongside a show of support for NGO EcoKnights, which is one of the National Stakeholder Committee members under the project Strengthening Non-State Actor Involvement in Forest Governance in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Papua New Guinea.
